This was my first time in Nepal, but it will certainly not be my last. Staying with Apsara and her family has been an incredible experience — thanks to her, we were able to truly immerse ourselves in Nepali culture, discover beautiful places, and feel completely cared for. We also had the privilege of spending time with our beloved Punarbal family, which made our stay even more special. Every moment has been unforgettable. I can’t wait to repeat this experience!

This is my second time staying with Apsara. I have stayed here for a total of 4 months, which have by far been the best months of my life. Her kindness is so warming, I was made to feel so welcome and accepted within the home, family and culture. She helped me so much as a person, she supported me when I was homesick and treated me as though I was her own. If anyone is looking to immerse themselves in the Nepali culture and see so much of the beautiful country whilst feeling safe and cared for, this is the perfect place to do this. I couldn’t have asked for better care, better food, better company than Apsara and her family. Forever great full and high recommend to anyone looking to travel to Nepal!

Warm welcome when we walked in and hasn’t changed. The bedrooms warm and cozy to delicious food it is a gap to nepals culture. The kids at the orphanage were full of energy and love doing sports and activities. Overall the homestay is very good and there will always be something to do

My name is Ronaldo Lotenzo, from Brazil. I stayed at Apsar's house for a month and was very well received by her and her family. I had the opportunity to spend time with volunteers like me from different countries, such as France, Mexico and England. The food was excellent, and she tries to meet our taste buds. It was a very pleasant house with a very comfortable space. I had the opportunity to visit and visit several Buddhist and Hindu monasteries, a rice planting festival (very fun) and the nature of the region, such as the forest and mountains that surround the Kathmandu Valley and also a wonderful waterfall. I am a sports teacher, so I taught soccer, volleyball and capoeira at both the orphanage and the Buddhist monastery, where I also had the opportunity to experience Buddhist religious life, which is one of my goals for coming to Nepal. I was surprised by the culture preserved in Kathmandu, such as the safety of walking down the street without fear of being mugged, which is very common in Brazil. And the traffic on the streets is an adventure for us Westerners. I wish happiness to the Apsara Family and gratitude for welcoming me into your home.

I had an amazing time at Apsaras and with the children in the orphanage. They do an incredible job and I’m so glad I was part of it. I loved Nepal and the people, they’re so welcoming and nice. I would definitely hope to come back in the future and see everyone again, it’d be lovely to see the kids as grown ups. ❤️ Namaste

Instantly we were greeted with smiles and kindness from Apsara and Sijan. Arriving at the home, I felt the comfort of a family. Many delicious traditional nepali meals served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even a cooking class with a beautiful view from their home making Momo’s, Pakauda and many more foods here in nepal. My favourite experience was being with the kids in the orphanage, they bring such kindness to everyone they meet and to know them was a great pleasure. Our work was mostly play and it brought such fulfilment to me to see such happiness. Playing nepali games, holding hands and shown tours around their home, having my hair braided by them and many hugs all around. Sometimes staying a little longer to be with them and coming home to a cooked dinner YUM! Apsara recommended many places nearby to us that were perfect, experiences such as sound bath healing, yoga, temples, hikes and informed us on local festivals and traditions nearby. I would recommend this place full of love to everyone who wants to experience life as a nepali and feel deep fulfilment in helping a community.

Apsara and her husband warmly welcomed us from the moment we stepped in Nepal, placing marigold necklaces on us and gave us two nights free at the homestay before the program started. In the morning, afternoon and evening we are made authentic Nepali food, our bellies we certainly full 24/7. The volunteering at the orphanage starts at 4pm, so in the day we have been free to explore the interesting things to do in the city such as the best local yoga and sound healing recommended by Apsara. Working at the orphanage was not "work" at all, we had so much fun with the kids who were curious and kind beyond measure, it as sad to say goodbye and wish we could have stayed for longer. Hopefully shall come back one day to be with Apsaras family once more and see the kids grown up.

My recent 2-week experience at Apsara’s Season Homestay was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Apsara and her family, who went above and beyond to make myself and the fellow volunteers feel at home. The house itself was clean and I got my own private and spacious room. Each meal we were treated to a delicious homemade dish featuring fresh ingredients and local specialties giving us the opportunity to try traditional Nepali food. Our hosts were always available with helpful suggestions for places to visit, eat, and explore, and their genuine hospitality made us feel like part of the family. During the weekdays, I spent time at the local orphanage where I got to meet and engage with the warm and friendly children who brightened up my days with their free spirits. I got an insight to the work and effort put into the program to ensure and safe and bright future for the children. It was a perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and cultural experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to others looking for a truly memorable stay.

I had the most wonderful experience staying with Apsara and her lovely family during my homestay in Nepal. They were incredibly welcoming, kind, and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Volunteering at the orphanage was such a rewarding experience, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of the children’s lives. I also had the chance to visit a local nunnery, which was such a peaceful and beautiful experience I’ll never forget. Thank you again to Apsara and her family for their hospitality and warmth.

I have stayed at seasonhomestay twice. Once in 2022 for three months and stayed again in 2023 for three weeks when I bought my father as well. I had the time of my life in Nepal in big part because of wonderful Apsara and her family at season home stay. The facilities and lodging were lovely and relaxing. The homestay is situated in a perfect location just out of the city. It’s quiet and relaxing and has a nice selection of sight seeing locations around the area. I will definitely stay again when I return.

Season Homestay is the perfect location in the Kathmandu Valley to use as a base for volunteering and cultural activities. Located in Ramkot, Nogarjun locality. This homestay s location feels like a rural village not a suburb of Kathmandu which it is. There are maize and rice fields, cows and goats around the homestay. The local children will get to know you as you walk by. You can volunteer at the local orphanage hostel or at the Buddhist nunnery up the hill. You can even do Yoga every morning if you wish. Apsara your host is so warm and welcoming and her family are wonderful. She is a great Nepali cook and will accommodate meals to your tastes. She can advise on volunteering requirements before you leave. We did some hiking also in this region. Their home is only four years old and very clean, warm and a pleasure to stay there. It’s a beautiful and quiet location, nothing like the busy Thamel area. If you want, a taxi will get you to the city in thirty minutes. I volunteered at the orphanage and a life changing experience is to be had. They’re one big family and all helping each other. They love visits, home work assistance and Nepali music of course. I highly recommend a stay at Apsara s. You will not regret it and please visit again. Tony from Australia
